PAL DVD

To create a PAL DVD (for non-US festivals):

  1. Bring your QuickTime master into Compressor.
  2. Apply the DVD: Best Quality 90 Minutes preset.
  3. Select the MPEG-2 target applied to your file. In the Inspector’s Encoder tab, deselect the gear icon next to Video Format and change it to PAL.
  4. Select the file itself in the batch window (not the target) and go to the Inspector’s Job Action tab
  5. Choose “When job completes: Create DVD.” Add a title if you like, and choose whether to begin playing or display a menu when the disc starts.
  6. Click Submit, then Submit on the dialog which follows. Insert a blank DVD-R.
  7. Test using DVD Player on your Mac. Press command-I to check to make sure the disc is PAL. All discs generated by this process are reigon-free.
